Lucy and Isaac’s Whimsical Wedding with a Cultural Twist

"May you have a harmonious union that lasts one hundred years." Lucy and Issac were blessed with a beautiful Chinese wedding, and as they tied the knot, the sun shone extra-bright for the two of them. Read on for more on their morning in March at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley.
The wedding was a beautiful amalgamation of both American and Chinese traditions. We loved how Lucy chose two different bridal attires keeping both the cultures in mind. The big day began with the Chinese wedding rituals at Lucy’s home. We adored how all the details of the wedding rituals have been captured beautifully by our wedding photographer. You see, it’s all in the details. The gold bangles, the wall wedding stickers, the string lights, and table settings. It all about these things - the efforts, emotions, and stories!
We absolutely loved the festive look that the house embraced. Red was predominant and rightly so! From the Chinese ‘double happiness symbol’ to the Tea Ceremony floral decor, the house was lit in the possible shades of red! Lucy looked stunning in a vibrant red qipao with golden work on it. Her embellished hair clip was the showstopper and gave her a chic look! The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in a great mix of western and traditional Chinese bridesmaid dresses. The groom looked dashing in a pastel mauve shirt and charcoal-colored pants.
The wedding rituals commenced with the Chinese Tea Ceremony. The families of the bride and the groom sat together to have Tsao Chün, a Chinese tea. We absolutely adored the way Lucy and Isaac chose to celebrate their respective roots. Our wedding photographers flawlessly captured the vibrancy of those precious multicultural moments in their frames, forever! The couple was then handed over the traditional ‘lucky-red-envelope’ and next as they say, is history!
After the Chinese Tea Ceremony, our wedding photographers captured the joy that reigned at that moment. Love was in the air as the happy couple indulged in some romantic portraits. For a couple of shots, they also had their pup be a part of it and we aww-bsolutely loved it! The terrace provided a great backdrop for their wedding photography. Lush greens and rich blooms took their photos a notch higher!
For the wedding ceremony and reception, all headed to the Lawrence Hall of Science. The spectacular wedding venue offered breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay Area. It would be unfair to miss out on capturing the magnificent views from the venue. Lucy and Isaac posed with all their heart and we are still swooning over the photos! The clouds, the greens and the panoramic views of the city provided a great backdrop. Isaac put on his charcoal-colored coat with a tie to complete his wedding look.
We absolutely loved how our wedding photographers captured their happiness and romance on that special day! The lovely duo was captured in candid moments like dancing, walking hand in hand and sitting lost in the comfort of each other’s embrace. Lucy and Isaac sat on the wooden bench placed at the stone patio, overlooking the spectacular views of the city. At that very moment, we can see how the time stood still. And that very click, hands down, is the stuff that wedding dreams are made of! We’re sure they felt ‘on top of the world!’
Lawrence Hall of Science is home to one of the most photogenic locations found in the city - the Forces That Shape The Bay’ installation. It is a landscape setting comprising a rock formation, a gorgeous waterfall, and a pond, all surrounded by lush green grass. No brownie points for guessing why the photoshoot there was one of our favorites.
Lucy and Isaac totally rocked the marvelous setting. They looked every bit in love and the charm of the surroundings added more depth to their photographs. We loved how our wedding photographers captured them from all possible angles. While their clothes were in perfect contrast, the surrounding rocky grays and dark clouds added more shades of gray!
The gorgeous couple was impeccably captured walking hand in hand along the pathway and posing next to the telescopes. They were soon joined by Lucy’s parents. It was a perfect moment to capture some gorgeous family portraits.
The moment that they all had been waiting for finally arrived. The scene looked straight out of a fairy tale as the chairs were placed overlooking the whole city! Lucy looked like a dream in a golden bridal gown with a cape. She dazzled as she walked towards the aisle with her mum and dad. Looking for inspiration on how to look like a dream? We fell head over heels in love with the wedding venue simply for the unparalleled views it has to offer!
The wedding reception was indoors and was every bit of fun with speeches and performances, including some authentic Chinese performances. The newly-wed couple also planned for interesting activities for their loved ones. We can’t help falling in love with the little red lanterns that the couple gave out as favors.
The big day couldn’t have ended on a better note than the couple spending some romantic moments amidst magical views of the city! Lucy changed into a beautiful white number as the city provided all the glamor for her. Lucy and Isaac stole precious moments from their special day as the entire city behind them lit up to celebrate their happiness!
